Bernard Morton "Bernie" Kopell, born on June 21, 1933, is a renowned American character actor, celebrated primarily for his portrayal of Dr. Adam Bricker, affectionately known as "Doc," in the beloved series The Love Boat. His diverse acting portfolio includes notable roles such as Alan-a-Dale in When Things Were Rotten, Jerry Bauman on That Girl, Siegfried in the classic comedy Get Smart, and Louie Pallucci in The Doris Day Show.

Kopell's talent extended to several appearances on the iconic sitcom Bewitched, where he portrayed various characters, including the witches' Apothecary and the warlock Alonzo in the episode "The Warlock in the Gray Flannel Suit." He was featured as a director in Alfred Hitchcock Presents’ episode titled "Good-Bye George," which aired on December 13, 1963, and had guest spots on The New Phil Silvers Show. Notably, he made brief appearances as a patient in Scrubs' "My Friend the Doctor" and appeared in Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, as well as playing a plastic surgeon on Chico and the Man.

Kopell's role in The Love Boat was humorously referenced during a 1995 cameo on Late Show with David Letterman. He also made a playful appearance in a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air dream sequence and a cameo in the 2008 film adaptation of Get Smart. Additionally, he took the lead in the 2010 off-Broadway play "Viagra Falls." Born in Brooklyn, New York, he is the son of Pauline and Al Bernard Kopell.
