Vijay Raaz

Vijay Raaz is a prominent Indian film actor celebrated for his versatile performances, particularly in comedic roles. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Dubeyji in the critically acclaimed film *Monsoon Wedding*, which marked a significant turning point in his career. Since then, Raaz has become a familiar face in Hindi cinema, often embodying the essence of the everyday man through his characters.

Born and raised in Delhi, Raaz pursued his education at Kirori Mal College, where he became actively involved in the college's dramatic society, The Players. His passion for acting led him to the National School of Drama, where he honed his craft. With aspirations of making it in the film industry, he relocated to Mumbai, where he landed his first role in Ram Gopal Varma's *Jungle*. His talent caught the eye of esteemed actors like Naseeruddin Shah, who recommended him for roles in *Bhopal Express* and *Monsoon Wedding*.

Following the success of *Monsoon Wedding*, Raaz secured numerous roles, eventually leading to his first prominent lead performance in *Raghu Romeo*. This film was a box office hit, allowing him to showcase the life of a bewildered lower-class Indian man, further solidifying his place in the film industry.
