Ida Galli
Ida Galli, born on October 8, 1939, in Sestola, Italy, is a renowned actress who made significant contributions to the Italian film industry from 1959 until 1990. Initially pursuing an academic path with aspirations to become a teacher, Galli's life took a dramatic turn when she met French actor Gérard Landry, who helped her land a small role in her debut film, "Nel blu dipinto di blu."
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Galli established herself as a versatile character actress, appearing in a wide array of films that encompassed both art-house and genre cinema. She worked with legendary directors such as Federico Fellini in the classic "La dolce vita," Luchino Visconti in "Il Gattopardo," and Antonio Pietrangeli in "Fantasmi a Roma." Her filmography also includes popular spaghetti westerns, peplums, horror movies, poliziotteschi, and Italian erotic comedies.
In 1965, she adopted the stage name Evelyn Stewart, which became synonymous with her two of her most famous roles in "Il medico della mutua" and its sequel, where she starred alongside the esteemed Alberto Sordi. Over the course of her career, Galli appeared in more than sixty films, leaving an indelible mark on Italian cinema before retiring from acting in 1990.
