Odile Versois
Odile Versois, originally named Étiennette de Poliakoff-Baydaroff, was a prominent French actress born on June 15, 1930, in Paris. With a prolific career that spanned over three decades, she participated in 47 film and television projects from 1948 until her untimely passing in 1980. Versois hailed from a talented family; she was the sister of renowned actresses Marina Vlady, Hélène Vallier, and Olga Baïdar-Poliakoff. Her father, Vladimir, was a distinguished opera singer of Russian heritage, while her mother, Militza Envald Voropanoff, was a celebrated dancer.
Versois began her journey in the performing arts as a child and initially trained in ballet before transitioning into acting. In 1951, she married fellow actor Jacques René Dacqmine, known for his role in "The Queen's Necklace," but their marriage lasted only a year. She later married Comte François Reynier Ambroise Henri Pozzo di Borgo in 1953, with whom she had four children, although this union also ended in divorce.
Odile Versois's life was tragically cut short when she passed away from cancer on June 23, 1980, just a few days after her 50th birthday. Her contributions to the film and television industry remain a testament to her talent and dedication to the arts.
