González initially found his footing as a radio announcer, but his breakthrough came with the popular radio drama *Martín Corona*, where he starred alongside the legendary Pedro Infante. In this production, he played the memorable character of Piporro, an elderly norteño sidekick, which resonated with audiences and established his comedic persona. The show's success led to a cinematic adaptation in 1952, titled *Ahí viene Martín Corona*, where González and Infante reprised their beloved roles.
Beyond *Martín Corona*, González showcased his talent as a norteño sidekick in the *El Águila Negra* film series alongside Fernando Casanova, further solidifying his status in the Mexican film industry.
