Pierce Brendan Brosnan, OBE, born on May 16, 1953, is a distinguished Irish actor, film producer, and environmental advocate, holding dual citizenship in Ireland and the United States.

Brosnan's journey in the arts began at the age of 16 when he left school to pursue commercial illustration. However, he soon shifted his focus to acting, training for three years at the Drama Centre in London. He garnered significant attention for his role in the television series *Remington Steele* (1982–87), which paved the way for a successful film career. Notable films from this period include *Dante's Peak* and *The Thomas Crown Affair*. In 1995, Brosnan achieved iconic status as he took on the role of James Bond, becoming the fifth actor to embody the legendary secret agent. He starred in four Bond films between 1995 and 2002 and lent his voice and likeness to the character in the 2004 video game *James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing*.

Brosnan's post-Bond career includes acclaimed performances in *The Matador* (2005, Golden Globe nomination), *Mamma Mia!* (2008, National Movie Award), and *The Ghost Writer* (2010). He co-founded the production company Irish DreamTime in 1996 with Beau St. Clair. Beyond his film work, Brosnan is recognized for his philanthropic efforts and commitment to environmental causes. He was previously married to Australian actress Cassandra Harris until her passing in 1991 and has been married to American journalist Keely Shaye Smith since 2001, obtaining American citizenship in 2004.
