Janna Cachola

Janna Cachola is a talented Filipina-New Zealander actress, singer, and model whose career has spanned over two decades. Born in the Philippines, she began showcasing her artistic abilities in 1996 but gained significant recognition in 2010 when she starred in the acclaimed production of *Miss Saigon* in Dunedin, New Zealand. Commonly referred to as Janna Cach or Janna C, she often navigates the mispronunciation of her surname, 'Cachola' (pronounced “CATCH-OLA”).

Her artistic journey took a noteworthy turn in 2006 when she auditioned for the second season of New Zealand Idol, although she did not advance past the early rounds. That same year, she recorded a self-titled demo and performed in various bars across the Philippines. In 2008, Janna’s talent was recognized by Kiwi rapper Joshua Webb, leading her to serve as a backing vocalist for the Parachute Music Festival, one of the largest Christian music festivals in the southern hemisphere. She contributed to several tracks for Webb and fellow artist Jzaman.

In 2009, Janna shifted her focus to acting and secured representation in Auckland, which opened doors for her in television and theater. Janna has familial ties to the entertainment industry, being related to notable figures like actress Juvy Cachola and beauty queen Jean Altavas. Her great-grandmother, Marcelina Cachola, was a World War II heroine, exemplifying the strength and resilience that runs in Janna's lineage.
