Plot

Set against the backdrop of New Zealand's wilderness, a low-budget horror film titled "Tonight They Come" spirals into chaos on its third day of shooting. Director SMP grapples with an egotistical leading man and a ditzy actress when aspiring screenwriter Wesley Pennington joins as a runner. Clumsy yet earnest, Wesley finds himself infatuated with Susan, the catering staff. As tainted water triggers a zombie outbreak among the extras, the line between fiction and reality blurs. In the ensuing mayhem, Wesley must navigate the madness to salvage both his script and his newfound romance.
