Jessica Pimentel
Jessica Pimentel, a native of Brooklyn, New York, is a talented American actress and musician with Dominican Republic roots. Embracing her rich heritage, which includes Taino Native American ancestry, she honed her craft at the renowned High School for the Performing Arts and later graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she received the Cleavon Little scholarship and participated in the professional acting company.
Pimentel's artistic journey has taken her across the United States, Canada, and Japan, not only as a classically trained violinist but also as a punk rock and hardcore musician. She has graced significant stages, including iconic venues like CBGB and Carnegie Hall. Alongside her musical endeavors, she is passionate about various dance forms and martial arts, and she has a deep interest in mathematics, science, and Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, having studied under H.E. Sermey Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Tharchin.
Her theater credits are impressive, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Notable performances include the Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Anna in the Tropics," the adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s "A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings," and Sarah Ruhl's "The Clean House." She is also recognized for her role as Lupita in the off-Broadway production "Aliens with Extraordinary Skills." In the music scene, Pimentel is the lead vocalist and guitarist for the heavy metal band Alekhine's Gun and plays bass for the hardcore group Desolate, proudly endorsed by Spector basses, Halo guitars, and Krank Amps.
