William Marlowe (25 July 1930 – 31 January 2003) was a distinguished British actor known for his work across theatre, television, and film. Initially aspiring to be a writer, Marlowe served in the Fleet Air Arm before pursuing formal training in acting at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).

Marlowe gained prominence for his portrayal of Sir Guy of Gisbourne in the 1975 series The Legend of Robin Hood. His television credits also include significant roles such as DCI Bill Russell in the popular series The Gentle Touch (1980–1984) and Harry Mailer in the Doctor Who serial The Mind of Evil (1971). He reprised his role in the Doctor Who universe four years later as Lester in the episode Revenge of the Cybermen (1975). His impressive range allowed him to guest star in various series, including Barlow (1975), Breakaway (1980), Callan (1972), and Catch Hand (1964). In the 1990s, he took on the role of Chief Superintendent Thomas in The Chief.

Marlowe's personal life included two significant marriages: first to actress Catherine Schell from 1968 until their divorce in 1977, and later to Kismet Delgado, the widow of actor Roger Delgado, from 1979 until his passing in 2003. Despite some misinformation, he was never married to actress Fernanda Marlowe.
