Plot

Mathias Gold, a struggling New Yorker, unexpectedly inherits a grand apartment in Paris from his estranged father. Eager to sell it for much-needed cash, he arrives only to find a stubborn tenant, the spirited Mathilde Girard, still residing there with her daughter Chloé. Unbeknownst to Mathias, the apartment operates under a viager system, which entitles Mathilde to monthly payments for life. As he navigates this unexpected twist, Mathias must confront the complexities of family ties, financial struggles, and the vibrant life within the walls he hoped to sell.
