Plot

In this outrageous comedy, a wild soap opera unfolds as a shady property developer stands trial linked to Mexico's turbulent past. Directed by Santiago Mohar Volkow, Una historia de amor y guerra focuses on the real estate mogul Pepe Sánchez-Campo, whose ambitious mall project clashes with local guerrilla fighters. For once, Pepe's usual tactics of bribery and relying on his father may not save him – he’s even more absurd than the telenovela surrounding him. Meanwhile, his cousin and secret lover Teo attempts to disrupt his marriage to Constanza by catching Pepe in an affair.
