Plot
Leonora, a naive young woman from a humble background, finds herself trapped in a turbulent marriage to the wealthy and possessive Ohlrig. His violent outbursts make her life unbearable, prompting her to flee and start anew as an assistant to Dr. Larry Quinada in New York City. As she develops feelings for Larry, her situation worsens when Ohlrig stubbornly denies her a divorce. The stakes rise further when Leonora discovers she is pregnant with his child, forcing her to confront the harrowing consequences of her past and the uncertain future ahead.
