Frank Ferguson

Frank S. Ferguson, born on December 25, 1899, in Ferndale, California, was a distinguished American character actor whose extensive career spanned both film and television, culminating in hundreds of memorable performances. Ferguson is perhaps best remembered for his role as Gus Broeberg, the Swedish handyman, on the beloved CBS series *My Friend Flicka*, which was adapted from the classic novel of the same name. Alongside co-stars Gene Evans, Johnny Washbrook, and Anita Louise, Ferguson brought warmth and charm to the character.

In addition to *My Friend Flicka*, Ferguson gained recognition for portraying the veterinarian in the early seasons of the iconic series *Lassie*. His film career began with a role in *Gambling on the High Seas* (1940), and he went on to appear in nearly 200 feature films, showcasing his versatility across various genres. Notable film credits include *McDougal's House of Horrors* (1948), *Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein* (1948), and *Ma and Pa Kettle at the Fair* (1952).
