Plot
McGrath is a successful children's book publisher, with Uncle Bump as a top seller. However, his author, Greg, struggles with alcoholism and has stalled on his next manuscript. When Martha wins a contest to illustrate the book, things take a turn when Greg gets her drunk on their first meeting. To keep her focused on the project, John enlists a troubled youth named Danny to pose as his son, highlighting Greg's mounting pressures. While the scheme initially succeeds, Greg's lingering heartbreak from Tillie complicates matters, as Martha emerges as a potential new muse.
