Plot

On October 14, 1916, a young scout uncovers the alarming advance of the German army near Târgu-Jiu. In a race against time, he alerts city commissioner Ioan Popilian. Joined by local policemen, scouts, and a few brave civilians left in the evacuated town, they mount a fierce stand at the Jiului Bridge. Their mission is crucial: prevent the Germans from seizing the bridge, which would grant them control of the railway station and hinder the retreat of the Romanian forces. Inspired by real events, this gripping tale highlights courage in the face of impending occupation.
