Plot
Billy Bigelow, having spent 15 years in the afterlife, faces a dilemma. Though he previously relinquished the chance to return to Earth for a day, he learns of struggles plaguing his wife, Julie Bigelow (née Jordan), and their child he has never known. Desperate to help his family, he seeks permission from the celestial gatekeeper. To earn this chance, he must recount his life story, reflecting on the choices that led him to his current state. This poignant tale is adapted from the beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway musical.
