Plot

Charmaine Mare, a young girl seeking work to support her struggling family, moved to Cape Town in January 2013, staying with her friend Kristina White in Kraaifontein. During her short time there, she found herself alone with Johannes de Jager, her friend's mother's boyfriend. Mare repeatedly resisted his unwanted advances, even documenting their conversations in a desperate attempt to seek help. Despite her courageous efforts to voice her distress, her cries went unheard, ultimately leading to heartbreaking and devastating consequences. This poignant documentary sheds light on her tragic story and the broader issues of vulnerability and neglect.
