Tigrero: A Film That Was Never Made (1994)

Plot

In 1993, filmmaker Sam Fuller journeys with Jim Jarmusch to Brazil's Mato Grosso, retracing his steps to the village of Santa Isabel Do Morro, where he once scouted for a film about a jaguar hunter. Armed with footage from 1954, Fuller seeks to reconnect with locals who might remember him. The village has transformed, boasting modern amenities like televisions and brick homes, yet the Karajá culture endures. As he screens his nostalgic film, villagers recognize their past, expressing gratitude for the memories revived, creating a poignant bridge between then and now.
