Plot

"Where Are You, João Gilberto?" follows the journey of German author Marc Fischer, who became fixated on locating the iconic Bossa Nova pioneer and revered musician, João Gilberto, who has remained out of the public eye for many years. Before his book, Hobalala, could see the light of day, Fischer tragically took his own life. In an effort to continue his search, we retrace Fischer's steps, piecing together the clues he left behind, in hopes of uncovering the legacy and essence of Bossa Nova. Yet, the question remains: will we ever find him?
