Plot

Hart and Moore, two grave robbers, supply cadavers to medical students in 19th-century Edinburgh. As demand outstrips supply, they resort to a grim scheme of creating their own—targeting the city's vagrants, prostitutes, and drunks. Their lucrative plan takes a dark turn when they accidentally poison the well-liked Jamie, prompting the townspeople to seek revenge. Originally intended to depict the notorious Burke and Hare, the film faced censorship, leading to a complete re-recording of dialogue to substitute the original names with Hart and Moore, transforming the narrative into a twisted tale of morality and desperation.
