Plot
Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression, Dan McGinty, a down-and-out drifter, finds himself entangled in a corrupt political system. His knack for orchestrating vote rigging catches the attention of powerful figures, leading to a swift rise as the face of a supposedly reformist mayor. However, to secure his candidacy, he must enter a marriage of convenience with the principled Catherine. This arrangement unwittingly sets off a chain of events that unravels Dan’s deceitful life, forcing him to confront the repercussions of his actions.
