Plot

Jim Trask, a former sheriff, returns to Abilene after serving in the Confederacy, only to discover that he is presumed dead. His old friend Dave Mosely is now set to marry Trask's former love, while tensions escalate between cattlemen and farmers. Reluctantly, Trask is drawn back into the role of sheriff, grappling with unresolved feelings tied to the death of Mosely's brother during the Civil War. As old loyalties and new conflicts collide, Trask must navigate a town rife with animosity and personal ghosts.
