Plot
In 1871, gambler John Devlin marries Sandra "Sandy" Poli, daughter of railroad magnate Marko Poli. Aware of the railroad's impending expansion into Dakota, Sandy hopes to invest their $20,000 savings in land options to sell at a profit. Their journey to Ft. Abercrombie is fraught with danger as they encounter Jim Bender and Bigtree Collins, powerful figures in Fargo, determined to drive out farmers by sabotaging their properties and blaming the Native Americans. Aboard the "River Bird," they meet the cantankerous Captain Bounce, who ultimately tries to recover their stolen money from Bender's thugs.
