Plot

Tottie True, a vibrant British music-hall star from the 1890s, dreams of transforming her humble beginnings into a life of luxury. Her heart, however, belongs to the earnest balloonist Sid Skinner, even as she pursues a higher social standing. Ultimately, she chooses to marry the wealthy Lord Landon Digby, who embodies the quintessential stiff upper lip. While she gains the financial security she sought, she finds herself missing the warmth and charm Sid offered. As her dreams clash with reality, Tottie reflects on her choices and what truly matters in love and life.
