Plot

Jim Dixon's luck seems to have run out as he navigates the dreary world of academia, stuck under the whims of the forgetful Professor Welch. His lackluster relationship with the neurotic Margaret Peel adds to his woes, leaving him seeking solace in the local pub. Things go from bad to worse during a torturous weekend visit with the Welch family, where the arrival of the obnoxious Bertrand only compounds his frustration. However, Bertrand's stunning companion, Christine Callaghan, captivates Jim, presenting a tantalizing glimpse of a life far removed from his own drudgery.
