Plot
At 36, former musical dancer Paula McFadden finds herself abandoned by her actor boyfriend Tony DeSanti, who opts for a European film role instead of taking her to Hollywood. To make matters worse, Tony sublets their New York apartment to Elliot Garfield, a charming and generous stranger who allows Paula and her pragmatic daughter, Lucy, to stay. While Lucy warms up to Elliot, Paula stubbornly resists, holding onto her disdain for actors. Juggling a demanding Broadway role while navigating their budding relationship, Elliot is determined to win Paula’s heart against all odds.
