Canada welcomed 27,000 refugees in 2017, a remarkable feat considering its population is just a fraction of the U.S. Among them were many fleeing the turmoil of Syria and Iraq, each carrying heavy emotional and physical scars from their journeys. Celebrated director Barbara Kopple presents their poignant stories through the lens of Camp Pathfinder, a historic summer camp nestled in the Canadian wilderness.
