Ace in the Hole (1942)

Plot

Woody Woodpecker, a stable boy at a bustling airfield, dreams of soaring through the skies. Inspired by the planes overhead, he proclaims, “I want to fly like the birds!” However, the gruff bulldog sergeant sees Woody as only fit for menial tasks, like using an electric clipper on the horses. After a series of mishaps, including accidentally trimming the sergeant’s shirt buttons and some of his fur, Woody remains undeterred. He immerses himself in a book titled "How to Fly a Plane from the Ground Up" and ultimately sneaks aboard a PU-2, determined to chase his dreams.
