Plot
Set against the backdrop of 1941’s escalating global tensions, the Roosevelt administration sought to enhance diplomatic ties within the Americas. They enlisted Walt Disney, a prominent Hollywood figure, to undertake a goodwill journey. Directed by Theodore Thomas and produced by Kuniko Okubo, WALT & EL GRUPO captures the extraordinary ten-week expedition of Disney and his selected team of artists, collectively known as “El Grupo.” This documentary reveals their experiences in South America, showcasing the cultural exchange and creative inspiration that emerged as part of the U.S. Government's Good Neighbor Policy.
