The Alcove (1985)

Plot

In 1936 Italy, Elio arrives home from Africa, bringing with him a unique gift for his wife, Alessandra: Zerbal, the daughter of a tribal king. However, Elio is unaware that his wife has been nurturing a bond with his cold-hearted secretary, Velma. Velma is far from thrilled about Elio's return, adding tension to an already complicated situation. As emotions clash and loyalties are tested, Elio's unexpected arrival threatens to unravel the fragile dynamics of their relationships, leading to unforeseen consequences for everyone involved.
