In the 1997 film "Volcano," a serene morning in Los Angeles is abruptly disrupted by a powerful earthquake that creates a deep crack in the earth’s surface. This geological upheaval triggers the emergence of lava from beneath the La Brea Tar Pits, leading to the formation of a volcano.
