Plot
Tom Ripley is a shrewd young man convinced that it’s preferable to be a fabricated figure of importance rather than an insignificant real person. His chance arises when a rich American shipbuilder enlists him to retrieve his affluent son, Dickie, from Italy. As Tom ingratiates himself into the luxurious lifestyle of Dickie and his girlfriend, he embarks on a bold path filled with deceit, manipulation, and ultimately, murder.
