Matthew Paige Damon, born on October 8, 1970, is an accomplished American actor, producer, and screenwriter. His star power was recognized in 2007 when he was listed among Forbes' most bankable stars, and by 2010, he was noted as one of the highest-grossing actors in film history. Over the course of his career, Damon has garnered numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and several nominations for British Academy Film Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards.

Damon's acting journey began with a role in the 1988 film Mystic Pizza, but he truly rose to fame in 1997 with the film Good Will Hunting, which he co-wrote with Ben Affleck. Their collaboration earned them an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, along with a Golden Globe. He solidified his status as a leading actor with memorable performances as Tom Ripley in The Talented Mr. Ripley, Jason Bourne in the Bourne series, and Linus Caldwell in the Ocean’s trilogy. His portrayal of an astronaut in The Martian (2015) won him a Golden Globe for Best Actor.
