Plot
Following General Franco's death, the Leguineche family vacates their long-held estate, Los Tejadillos, to re-enter Madrid's high society and reconnect with the Spanish monarchy. The aging marquis is fixated on mingling with prestigious families to reclaim the status and grandeur his lineage lost. He plans to move into a dilapidated palace he owns in the heart of the city, but first must confront the hostility of his wife, who despises both him and their son. In a bid to gain control, he attempts to declare her mentally unfit while preparing the palace for a grand transformation.
