Plot

Frédéric Lansac, a passionate artist and botanist, becomes entangled in a tumultuous romance with the vivacious Moira, only to abandon her for the enchanting Anne. Their wedding takes a dark turn when Moira crashes the celebration, leading to a horrific accident that leaves Anne injured. Seeking isolation, the couple retreats to Frédéric's mansion, accompanied by two mute dwarves who serve as their only company. As Anne's bitterness grows, Frédéric deceives everyone into believing she has died, secretly hiring a nurse to care for her, all while their lives spiral into a web of obsession and desperation.
