WHEN WE ARE BORN presents an evocative live performance film inspired by Ólafur Arnalds' life experiences. Shot in Iceland during the summer of 2020, it showcases the talents of innovative choreographer Erna Ómarsdóttir and the Iceland Dance Company, alongside cinematographer Thor Eliasson. The film features music from Ólafur’s acclaimed album ‘some kind of peace,’ performed live on set, creating a seamless dialogue between visuals and sound. Guided by Vincent Moon’s artistic vision, the film intricately weaves themes of ritual, connection, and personal growth, inviting viewers to reflect on the journey of moving forward.
