Plot
In "Sonatine," Murakawa, a weary yakuza in Tokyo, is dispatched by his boss to Okinawa with a small team to mediate a gang conflict. However, he quickly realizes that the feud between the rival clans is trivial and questions the purpose of their mission. As they ponder their next move, they fall victim to a surprise attack. With only a few of them left, they retreat to a serene beach, opting to bide their time and wait for further orders while contemplating their uncertain future.
