In "Kes," 15-year-old Billy Casper, a working-class boy from Yorkshire, faces relentless bullying at school and neglect at home from his uncaring mother and older brother. Seeking solace, he discovers a kestrel falcon, whom he names Kes, and dedicates himself to training the bird. With the support of his English teacher and newfound friends, Billy begins to carve out a sense of purpose and joy amidst the struggles of his bleak life, ultimately finding a connection that transforms his outlook on existence.
