Plot
In a predominantly white Iowa town, Flip dreams of hip-hop fame, idolizing Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre. He rehearses his rap skills with friends James and Trevor, immersing himself in Black culture while selling flour as a drug. Despite his aspirations, reality looms large: his father faces unemployment, his mother relies on Food Stamps, and his girlfriend is pregnant. James exhibits troubling behavior, while one friend prepares for college. A fateful trip to Chicago escalates as the group encounters real danger with police. Flip must confront his fantasies and the harsh truths of his life.
