Plot

Set against the backdrop of a crumbling Nazi regime in 1945 Germany, Willi Herold, a soldier who has fled the army, accidentally dons a discarded captain's uniform. Initially seeking warmth, he quickly realizes the power that the uniform bestows upon him. As he assumes this new identity, Willi finds that desperate people are willing to rally behind him, no matter his true intentions.
