Mark Cousins, a filmmaker shaped by his upbringing in a war-torn Northern Ireland, journeys to Goptapa, a small Kurdish-Iraqi village along the Tigris River. In this community of just seven hundred residents, he aims to create a dreamlike film that transcends typical media portrayals. Empowering local children with cameras, Cousins invites them to craft their own narratives, exploring themes of war, love, and even whimsical tales featuring a fish on a magical adventure and a chicken engaging in philosophical debates about justice.
