Plot

Widowed Welsh mother Anna Leonowens takes on the role of governess and English tutor for the numerous wives and children of the obstinate King Mongkut of Siam. As she navigates the complexities of royal life, Anna finds herself at odds with the King’s traditional views. Her mission includes educating the family on English customs and preparing an important diplomatic gathering aimed at shifting European perceptions of the King. Through their contrasting personalities, Anna and Mongkut embark on a journey of cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
