Plot
Marilyn Miller's journey from her parents' vaudeville act to Broadway stardom begins when she's discovered by the charismatic dancer Jack Donahue. Recognizing her immense talent, he guides her to success on stage where she also finds romance with the talented songwriter Frank Carter. As her career flourishes, complications arise, particularly when Frank proposes just as he prepares to leave for World War I. The pressures of love and ambition collide, testing Marilyn's resolve as she navigates the challenges of fame and a looming separation.
