Plot
Laid off after decades as a shipbuilder in Glasgow, 55-year-old Frank Redmond finds himself adrift and struggling with a lack of purpose. Although his friends—eccentric Danny, anxious Norman, and cynical Eddie—offer support, Frank grapples with feelings of isolation. A casual comment from Danny sparks an idea that challenges him to confront his insecurities and reconnect with his estranged son, Rob, and devoted wife, Joan. Determined to regain his confidence, Frank sets his sights on an ambitious goal: swimming the treacherous English Channel, testing both his physical limits and personal resolve.
