Plot
Set against the backdrop of a chilly Scottish seaside village, a single day weaves together the lives of its inhabitants. Recently widowed Frances struggles with her grief when her mother, Elspeth, arrives in hopes of mending their strained relationship and supporting Frances and her son, Alex. Meanwhile, elderly friends Chloe and Lily attend a funeral, while teenagers Sam and Tom skip school for an afternoon of adventure. Amidst this tapestry of emotions, Alex finds himself smitten with the spirited tomboy, Nita, adding a layer of youthful longing to the day’s unfolding events.
