Monsieur Feydeau struggles with writer's block while seeking inspiration for his next play. He becomes captivated by the lives of Paris's elite in 1900, particularly the strained dynamics of Monsieur Boniface, ruled by his overbearing wife, and the distracted Henri, who is oblivious to the beauty of his neglected spouse, Marcelle. As Henri investigates peculiar noises around their homes, he plots a rendezvous at the Hotel Paradiso, a secretive locale where Marcelle and Boniface meet. Amidst the chaos of two husbands, a meddling nephew, and a curious maid, unexpected twists—including a police raid—provide Feydeau with the material for a hit play.
