Plot

Twelve-year-old Annie Lamm's summer kickoff takes an unexpected turn when her parents whisk her away to Hilton Head Island for their second honeymoon. To her dismay, they reveal their plan to leave her with her estranged 76-year-old grandfather, Donald, for half the summer. Overwhelmed and frustrated, Annie grapples with the challenge of connecting with a relative she barely knows while trying to make the most of her vacation.
