Plot

In "Perfect Blue," Mima, an emerging pop sensation, decides to leave her music career behind to become an actress. However, as she steps into a lead role on a hit detective series, a series of gruesome murders involving her associates begins to unfold. Consumed by guilt and tormented by unsettling hallucinations of her past persona, Mima finds her grip on reality slipping. As the lines between her real life and the roles she plays blur, she spirals into a state of overwhelming paranoia, questioning her identity and safety.
