Plot

Grimes, a morally bankrupt chimney sweep, has a penchant for pilfering from his clients. When he nearly gets caught, he deceitfully pins the blame on his young apprentice, Tom. Fleeing from the injustice, Tom leaps into a river and undergoes a remarkable transformation into a magical water creature. As he navigates this enchanting underwater realm, he encounters a vibrant array of beings, some benevolent and others sinister. Tom's journey becomes one of self-discovery as he adapts to his new existence while seeking justice and redemption in this fantastical world.
